GENERAL: What is the exact name of the company / brand we will be designing for? Is this a brand or the company name? If it is a company, is it an independent company, or is it a subsidiary? What is your location?

PURPOSE: What is the main purpose of the design? Will the design piece be needed to solve a problem? What would you expect viewers to do or think after seeing it?

PREVIOUS DESIGNS: Do you already have a logo or any other kind of graphic design piece we should base upon? Are there any design guidelines to follow? If so, how much should we stick to them? In this case, why are you redesigning? Were they successful in the past or not? Why? Did you do this design yourself or you hired a designer or a design studio?

YOUR COMPETITION: Do you like it or not your competitor's graphic designs? Which are the elements of their design that you like or dislike? Why? What are your advantages over them? Your disadvantages? Is there anything we should highlight or hide?

STYLE: Do you have any preference regarding colors? Design style? Please describe it. Some adjectives that might be helpful to describe the design you are after: feminine/masculine, simple/complex, gray/colorful, subtle/bright, quiet/loud, necessity/luxury, expensive/economical, playful/serious, raw/refined, exotic/commonplace, sporty/elegant, adventure/secure, flat/3D, curves/lines.

AUDIENCE: Your audience? Age/Gender/Economical & Social status? Any kind of social/cultural characteristics we should take into account? Does the design need to reflect some local aspect of your business (i.e. your city, state, etc)?

CONTENT: Will you e-mail the verbiage in a document (MS Word or similar format), or will you forward us to a web site/other source where to get the verbiage from? Is this text final or do you anticipate major changes? Will you send pictures (hi-res please) or should we get them from royalty-free image banks?

PRINTING: If this is going to be printed material, should we design with a fixed number of colors, or will it be a full-color design? Where are you going to print it? Have you already had any material printed by them? Do they need any special format for the deliverable files?
